How quickly should an examination take place?

An examination should take place as soon as possible, as injuries can heal and traces can be lost. This applies in particular in cases of sexual violence, suspected use of so-called knockout drops or other substances that can only be detected for a short time.

Even if the incident happened some time ago, an examination or consultation may still be useful.
