Who is informed about the examination?

Medical professionals are generally bound by professional confidentiality. Information is not simply passed on to third parties.

If you are examined by forensic medicine in connection with filing a police report, our findings are passed on to the investigating authority. If there are certain topics you do not wish to discuss, you do not have to do so.

If no police report has been filed, findings or traces are generally only passed on with your consent or, in exceptional cases, on the basis of legal provisions. Exceptions exist, for example, in certain child protection cases involving a duty to cooperate.
