Education, further education and professional development

Our teaching and training activities combine scientific principles with practical forensic expertise and are aimed at various specialist disciplines.

  • University teaching for students of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Law
  • Specialist training to become a consultant in forensic medicine (Category A training centre). You can find our training programme here (PDF, 158 KB). We accept unsolicited applications on an ongoing basis.
  • Forensic medicine training courses/instructional sessions for forensic science, the police and the public prosecutor’s office, etc.
  • Training courses on recognising violence and documenting forensic findings, as well as on general forensic medicine topics for medical staff, police and judicial authorities

Through the IRM-Insight format, we also offer events four times a year at which all departments of the IRM provide an insight into their work and there is an opportunity for professional exchange.
